Schools which already participate in Title IV Federal Student Aid programs are likely already complying with many of the principles set forth in the Principles of Excellence contained in Executive Order 13607. Many schools have voluntarily adopted the Principles of Excellence, however for schools receiving funding from federal military and veterans’ education benefits like the Post 9/11 GI Bill or Tuition Assistance Program, adoption is mandatory.
The principles set forth strict consumer protection requirements in the following key areas:
- Providing a standardized cost form,
- Providing federal aid information,
- Aggressive and fraudulent recruiting,
- State authorization,
- Incentive compensation,
- Individual education plans, and
- Academic and financial counseling points of contact.
Schools seeking participation in any of the Veterans Educational Benefits Programs are welcome to contact our office with questions.
